In her new eponymous talk show, the famous singer revealed that her son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., informed her that a pair of his sneakers were fake, but also that an authentic pair of Jordans can cost $20,000.
“‘Me, when I was a kid, my brother and sister loved sneakers, and they bought stuff from Jordans and big brands,” the EGOT winner told her audience, noting how she and her mom were looking for the cheapest shoes when she was a kid during back to school. “‘Mom, don’t worry about me, take me to Payless.'”
The shoe conversation started when Hudson was telling her audience how involved she was in her son’s life. When she and her teenager recently visited a local clothing store, they were shocked to learn that a $7,000 pair of shoes had just been sold there.
Afterwards, David picked out a pair of Jordan 11 Retro OVO Gray Snakeskin, which usually fetch around $20,000 at auction. Let’s just say the mother-son couple left the business establishment empty-handed.
“What are shoes for?! Hudson told a laughing audience. “What is he doing? Is this going to get me anywhere? This then led to her son pointing out that his shoes were fake, something she didn’t even think was a thing.
