Beating officials with shoes: Bihar Agriculture Minister’s statement goes viral

Bihar Agriculture Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Sudhakar Singh has called government officials corrupt and urged the public to beat them with their shoes. He was addressing a gathering of farmers at Bhagwanpur in Kaimur district.

The Bihar minister said an officer from the department of weights and measures took 10 liters of petrol from his car at a petrol pump and asked staff to make a note on a register and then demanded silver. The agent was suspended when the matter came to his attention. An honest officer came in his place. But they have to beat them with shoes every time they appear.

The RJD leader said their thrones began to shake from Patna to Delhi as he recounted the plight of farmers. He was asked to resign. Why should he resign? The public has the power. Furthermore, he also challenged the Mahagathbandhan government to fire him.

The agriculture minister said the subsidy had become a disease and would soon be phased out. He further stated that these grant monies would be spent to manufacture Bajar Samiti and Mandi.

The Bihar minister also accused the Seed Corporation of giving fake paddy to the farmers. This is the reason why farmers in Bihar got poor quality crops. These issues would be reviewed within a week and strict action would be taken against the officials responsible.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Jai Hind has said that while Nitish Kumar is desperately trying to stand as a candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, his own political capital has completely eroded in Bihar. Once again, RJD Minister Sudhakar Singh attacked his own Bihar government saying department officials were receiving bribes of Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 twice in 15 days!

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been ignoring the Minister of Agriculture for several days. He chaired a meeting in his absence to review the work of the Department of Agriculture in the state on September 18.
