The Border Community Development Agency (BCDA), in collaboration with Mulserve Limited, organized a skills training program for women and youth on Saturday on fish farming, shoe and bag making in the Yobe East Senate District.
The program was facilitated by the Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam as part of his Zonal Intervention Project 2022.
The training, which focused on fish farming, as well as shoe and bag making, was intended to complement the Yobe state government’s efforts to provide employment opportunities for women and youths.
In his remarks, Senators Gaidam said this is an extension of skills training programs he runs for people in his constituency.
“I am organizing this training for more than 400 women and young people in the constituency so that they become productive and self-reliant for the development of all,” he said.
Represented by his legislative assistant Mohammed Kuwata, Senator Gaidam urged the participants to use the knowledge acquired during the training and the tools given to them wisely.
Taking the floor, the representative of Border Community Development Agency, Mr. Rotime Tayo appreciated the senator for his patriotism and appealed to the participants not to sell the items given to them for the benefit of the constituency, the state and the country as a whole.
